The aims of the course are:
To promote and develop the teaching of music in secondary schools.
To provide the very latest guidance and information on secondary music.
To encourage and support the skills, knowledge and development of music staff.
Participants will receive up to date information and advice on secondary music matters. The day will involve a mixture of training, discussion and information sharing. A key focus for the 2007-08 academic year will be the KS3 Music Strategy and Musical Futures initiative. Each of the days will have a carefully planned agenda that will consider the latest developments in music teaching, review recently released curriculum materials, and provide skills and knowledge to form the basis of sound subject advice to colleagues and senior management. The sessions will also provide participants with valuable opportunities to network ideas and practices with colleagues from other secondary schools.
