To provide training and material to support participants in the delivery of an effective and progressive music curriculum within a classroom environment (including Wider Opportunities whole class vocal and instrumental programmes).

Participants will be introduced to The Voices Foundation methodology, which is rooted in an aural / vocal approach to developing musical skills, knowledge and understanding. The course covers all aspects of musical development from FS to Y6, using a wide range of songs and exercises which enable all children to realise their full potential through a singing – based curriculum.
The Voices Foundation methodology and material forms the basis of Merton’s new Ongoing Skills Units of Work, part of a new music curriculum scheme and a core strand of MMF’s Development Strategy for Primary Schools 2006 - 2009.
Course material will be available for participants to purchase at the first session (£22).
